Fall 2019 Monotype Printmaking at Open Studio

  • Open Studio 104-401 Richmond Street West Toronto, ON Canada (map)

I’m teaching a weekend workshop at Open Studio this November. Join me for a weekend of exploring monotype printing. In case you ask what that is, it’s basically painting on a plastic plate, then printing one impression on paper. I’ll show you how to develop and experiment on your plastic plate. See the below details from the Open Studio website and register for my class by clicking here.

Monotype - $235, includes materials
Saturday - Sunday, 11:00am - 4:00pm
November 9 – November 10

Create colourful and vibrant unique/one-of-kind prints. Participants will learn to develop multiple painterly layers on each artwork, utilizing soy-based Akua Intaglio Inks and water-soluble drawing materials such as watercolour pencils and crayons. Experiment away! Various mark-making techniques, chine collé and composition development will also be covered.

No prior printing experience necessary.
