Points of Abstraction, Solo Exhibition, 2017

In case you didn't know, I have a show opening on Thursday, February 16, 6:30-8:30, at Open Studio George Gilmour Members' Gallery. It's on until March 18. I hope you can come by and check-out the show. I'll exhibit monotypes on paper and a painting based on the interiors and exteriors of architecture. A couple of promotions on Open Studio's Facebook and Akimbo e-blast.

January and February 2017 Happenings

2017 for me, means a lot of things happening and the first two months are busy. In January, I'm demonstrating Akua Inks for Speedball at Aboveground Art Supplies in the Beach area on the 13th, 3-5 PM. The show I organized in the Print Sales Gallery at Open Studio opens also on the 13th, 6:30-8:30 PM and is part of TODO2017. Then I'm doing a talk on the 21st on Enhance Your Interiors with Original Fine Art Prints. Then in the afternoon of the same day, I'm on a panel at the Feminist Art Conference as a board member of CPAMO at OCAD University, 3:45-4:30 PM.
At the moment I'm working on my exhibition Points of Abstraction which opens on February 16, 6:30 - 8:30 PM. For some reason I have two days in which I have two events happening on the same day. Building up the energy to do it all!

Finally on Trend, Maybe

The 2017 Pantone colour of the year is Greenery (Pantone 15-0343). My work has a lot of this colour including my prints at the Open Studio Artist Proof Sale and of course my prints on my website. Get your year started early and get your "greenery" print.

I've packaged this work with four other prints on paper. Visit and shop at the Edition Toronto 2016 located in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre Oct. 28-31, 2016.

Summer Group Show at Open Studio

I donated this work to Open Studio not too long ago for Editions or 100 Prints (can't remember when I donated it). Although it didn't get selected at the event, it's now resurfaced to this group show entitled Summer Salon. The interns working with us this summer co-curated it. I had no influence on their choices. It's lovely that they chose it. Come by and see the show from Aug. 5 -19, 2016 with an opening reception on Aug.6, 2-4 PM. See more.

In the Studio

This is my monotype plate with Akua inks pre-printing. I may have to start painting on mylar as an added substrate. I like how the colours are so vibrant on the mylar.

Open Studio at Art Toronto 2015

For the fifth year, Open Studio, the printmaking studio where I work as the Print Sales and Archive Manager, will be at Art Toronto 2015. I'm currently working with my assistant, Sarah Sands Phillips on our booth. It's going to be an amazing fifth year. Click here for the list of artists we're showing and preview their work. Visit us at C67!

Past Stories, Present Sense at Harbourfront Centre

Co-curated Exhibition
In this past year, I co-curated a group exhibition with Suzanne Morrissette in the vitrines at Harbourfront Centre with artists David Cheung, Brenda Joy Lem, Morris Lum and Emma Nishimura. The show is called Past Stories, Present Sense and it’s duration is from June 20 – September 20, 2015. My first venture into co-curating an exhibition. It was a project I worked on during my mentorship program with the Visual Arts Director of Harbourfront, Pat Macaulay through the Ontario Association of Art Galleries. Also I organized the Artist Talks for this show at Open Studio and had a great turnout. Just a little over a week left to see the show!

New Website-in-Progress

This new website is a work-in-progress. I hope to show all my artist activities, future, current and past. It's an exciting start. My old site wiped the slate clean. I hope you'll stay tune.
