Fall 2019 Monotype Printmaking at Open Studio

I’m teaching a weekend workshop at Open Studio this November. Join me for a weekend of exploring monotype printing. In case you ask what that is, it’s basically painting on a plastic plate, then printing one impression on paper. I’ll show you how to develop and experiment on your plastic plate. Saturday - Sunday, 11:00am - 4:00pm
November 9 – November 10

Create colourful and vibrant unique/one-of-kind prints. Participants will learn to develop multiple painterly layers on each artwork, utilizing soy-based Akua Intaglio Inks and water-soluble drawing materials such as watercolour pencils and crayons. Experiment away! Various mark-making techniques, chine collé and composition development will also be covered. 

No prior printing experience necessary.

Workshop at Guelph School of Art

Happy 2019! Start the year with art by registering for my printmaking workshop at the Guelph School of Art. A one-day fun class experimenting with monotype techniques. $75 for the class.
This painterly printmaking technique will inspire participants to create colourful and vibrant unique prints. Using water-washable Akua inks and water-soluble drawing materials, each participant will create prints with multiple layers on each artwork. Various mark-making techniques, chine collé and developing the composition will also be covered. No experience is necessary. ALL MATERIALS INCLUDED! Fall 2018 Akua Ink Printmaking at Open Studio

I’m teaching the Akua Ink Printmaking class, experimenting with the monotype process which I’ve developed in my art practice for over 15 years. Including monotype techniques using Akua inks and modifies, brayers, brushes and other diy tools, I’ll also cover printing registration, composition and curating your print. Come join me for a weekend of print and painting fun!
